Mural Project: Sponsored by the Half Moon Bay Rotary Club In commemoration of Rotary's 100th anniversary, the Half Moon Bay Rotary Club is sponsoring an 800 square foot mural for the south side of the City Hall Building on Main Street in downtown Half Moon Bay. The theme of the mural is "The Character of the Coastside."

Last fall a call to artists went out and 14 submissions were received. The winning submission, by local artist and architect Doug Snow, was selected by a committee and
approved by the City Council in January-February, 2005.

The mural is a colorful pastoral scene centered in a trompe l'oeil which replicates features of the façade from the building's west side.

Doug is currently painting the mural with the assistance of Randie Marlow, local Graphic Designer/Photographer and is scheduled to complete it by June 1. Other volunteers are expected to join in as the project proceeds.

A dedication ceremony will be held in June, 2005.
